Qi Gong

Workshop Saturday 21 September at 10am only.

At Saxtead Green. Free, but donations welcome.

Come along and find some calm to start your day. All ages welcome.

Bring a mat or rug and wear something comfortable.

Discover and enjoy the gentle, ancient art of Qi Gong.

No previous experience necessary. It’s very easy, very gentle and can even be done sitting down (if people can’t stand and bring a deck chair along). Unlike Tai Chi, there aren’t long sequences of moves that need to be learned in a set. Kirsten will break it all down into very easy to follow simple moves.

More about Qi Gong

Qi Gong is over 5000 years old passed down from master to students in the oldest known university in Wu dang mountain in China and is practiced daily by over 700 million people for longevity and extending life.

Qi Gong, chi kung, or chi gung literally "Life Energy Cultivation" is a practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. With roots in Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy, Qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi (chi) or what has been translated as "intrinsic life energy". Typically a Qi Gong practice involves rhythmic breathing coordinated with slow stylized repetition of fluid movement, a calm mindful state, and visualization of guiding qi through the body. Qi Gong is now practiced throughout China and worldwide.
